About Pass

PASS (Performer Availability Screening Services) is a non-profit organization dedicated to the health and safety of adult industry workers. Part of our mission is to minimize disease transmission and production disruption through centralizing policymaking and program implementation.

PASS is governed by a volunteer board of directors. We are required by state and federal law to publicly disclose finances through annual 990 tax filings.

Find a PASS Testing Partner

Regular STI testing is of the utmost importance to remain bookable, ready for work, and aware of your own personal health — your adult business depends on it!

How does PASS work?

PASS enters into contractual agreements with testing partners who conduct STI and/or other infectious disease testing in the United States who then report work clearance data to our database. Self-regulation of adult industry workers is made possible through 14-day testing using the standard panel established by PASS. The price of testing is set by the testing partners - PASS receives no money from testing.

The PASS database only stores binary yes/no ‘work clearance’ data - meaning no individual test results are uploaded to PASS. Clinical staff with the appropriate licensure at our testing partners makes a work clearance determination based on the results from the testing panel.

  • Clearance is given for 14 days from the date of when you go to get tested

  • Testing results are typically expected within 48 hours from sample collection

  • In the event of a potential significant infection risk to the performer pool, the PASS database is closed and production is suspended until the risk is addressed. This is referred to as a production hold.

PASS Clearance Database

Knowing how to check PASS for your own or another performer’s cleared STI test results online and never through a printed paper or screenshot should become regular practice.

What do PASS testing partners test for?

  • Chlamydia

  • Gonorrhea

  • Trichomoniasis

  • Syphilis

  • Hepatitis B

  • Hepatitis C

  • HIV

  • Mgen (Mycoplasma genitalium)* However, this is only required once every 30 days.

Sex and STI Risk

There is no way to 100% eliminate the risk of STI transmission during sexual activity. Our 14-day testing policy was created because testing more frequently has little additional value.

Production Holds

Anytime a production hold is called, it should be taken 100% seriously.
